Three Formats.
One Clear Purpose.
Each Linenroot programme is designed for a different household situation. This page explains what each involves, how it works, and who it suits.
Back to HomeHow We Work
Every Linenroot programme is built around the same core idea: conversation across generations is more useful when it has structure. Most families talk regularly, but rarely in ways that allow for the kind of unhurried exchange that difficult or important topics need.
Our facilitators do not direct what a family discusses or what conclusions they should reach. They manage the setting, the timing, and the sequencing of prompts — so that participants can focus on the conversation rather than on managing it.
The materials are developed in-house and revised regularly based on participant feedback. They are designed for household situations in Malaysia — where multiple languages, cultural backgrounds, and generational expectations often sit alongside one another.
All programmes are non-clinical. The team does not offer therapeutic, legal, or financial advice. The scope is educational and reflective: opening conversations, not resolving disputes or providing guidance.
Programme 01
Intergenerational Conversation Workshop
A facilitator-led session for households who want to open structured conversations across generations — adult children, parents, grandparents. Participants work through a sequence of prompt cards on shared topics: household transitions, family history, and the practicalities of caregiving. Seated in small mixed-generation groups, the format allows different voices to be heard in a managed, respectful space.
- Printed workbook for each participant
- Follow-up prompt card set to take home
- Facilitator-led small group format
- Suitable for 3–12 adults across generations

Programme 02
Family Letter-Writing Series
Three guided sessions in which participants are supported through the practice of writing letters to family members on subjects often left unspoken — gratitude, accumulated questions, or shared history. The facilitator offers prompts, structure, and quiet space. The writing itself is private and is never read aloud unless the writer chooses. Letters may be sent, kept, or set aside. Reflective rather than therapeutic in scope.
- Three sessions of approximately two hours each
- All writing materials and stationery provided
- Writing remains entirely private
- Suitable for adults of any age, independently
